How I think about this work
Most operational problems get diagnosed at the level of the event — the late shipment, the missed forecast, the supplier that let you down. System dynamics starts one level deeper: what structure produced this event, and would it have produced a different-looking failure eventually anyway?
That question runs through both halves of what I do. On the research side, my work applies system dynamics and network optimization to supply chain resilience and to maritime cybersecurity risk, building on the Forrester–Sterman tradition of stock-and-flow modeling and on stochastic and mixed-integer optimization for network design. On the operating side, I've spent my career inside supply chain and operations functions — not just advising them — across mining, consumer goods, healthcare, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Estay Dynamics exists to bring that combination — the formal modeling and the operating floor experience — to organizations working through a genuine structural problem, not just a bad quarter.
